WHO WE ARE
The Tatar Council is a representative institution of Tatars living in different parts of the world. We are an open movement uniting activists, scholars, journalists, cultural figures, and all those concerned about the fate of the Tatar people.
Our organization was founded by Tatar emigrants from various countries: Europe, Australia, Canada, Turkey, and others. The Council has no single chairman — all participants have equal rights, each defining their area of work and operating within a common strategy.

Our Mission
The Tatar Council unites Tatars from around the world to defend the rights of the Tatar people, preserve and develop our identity, culture, language, and religion. We strive for the restoration of Tatarstan's sovereignty and the achievement of freedom for our people.

WHY WE EMERGED
Context of Creation
The Tatar Council emerged in response to the critical situation surrounding the Tatar people. Dramatic changes have occurred in recent years that demand immediate action.
Key Problems
Our Response
The Tatar people have always been bearers of progressive ideas. We have our own position, and we must voice it. We cannot live as if nothing is happening. Someone must speak, explain, and advocate for what cannot be said in Tatarstan and Russia due to repression.
